Invisalign is literally invisible braces. Clear plastic customized trays cover the teeth, are worn all day and night, and are changed to a different tray that moves the teeth closer to the planned final straight positioning of the teeth. Patients can go to work, socialize and do everything they normally do while wearing Invisalign. The trays must be removed for meals.
Straightening the teeth has many benefits in addition to cosmetics:
- Straightened teeth are less likely to trap food and plaque.
- Straightened teeth are more self cleansing and with a good, consistent oral care routine at home, can ensure less dental issues will develop in the future.
- Straightened teeth are less likely to develop cavities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Invisalign hurt?
Invisalign uses clear plastic trays that gradually move your teeth. Most patients experience only mild pressure or discomfort when switching to a new tray, which is temporary and much less noticeable than traditional braces.
Can I eat normally with Invisalign?
The trays must be removed for meals, so you can eat and drink normally. Straightened teeth are also easier to keep clean, which helps prevent future cavities.
What Our Patients Say
“Dr. Cutlatsakes is very professional and easy going. I asked him several in depth questions about dental hygiene and was very satisfied with all of his answers, and how he made me feel like he had all the time in the world to discuss them. His office is beautiful, and the views are amazing. You look out one of the pointed triangle windows inside the arches of the Chrysler Building as he does his thing. Would definitely recommend him.”
“Dr. Antonio was fantastic. He really cared about my medical history and took the time to explain everything he was doing. Also the view from the 69th floor of the Empire State Building is phenomenal!”
“Highly recommended! Great Doctor!”
